Eligibility requirements
Participation in the competition is exclusively limited to Valorlux member companies. All contestants must present a household packaging design (or similar packaging design) that is already available on the Luxembourg market or will be launched before 28 February 2018.

1Household and
similar packaging
Household packaging includes packaging of products mainly aimed at being used in private homes and by households.
Similar packaging is:
- packaging of an identical or similar nature to household packaging, whilst having a non-household purpose;
- or commercial packaging (secondary or tertiary packaging, except pallets) that goes with household packaging.
This includes packaging like individual sugar bags, 10kg mayonnaise containers or even empty packaging of products used at hairdresser, schools, restaurants, etc.
2Non household packaging
All other packaging which is not considered as household and similar packaging. For examples:
- Transportation pallets (re-useable or not);
- Packaging which has clearly been designed, either by virtue of the product it contains, or by virtue of its presentation or size, for consumers other than those mentioned above (e.g. acid barrels for the industry).
Practical examples
- A producer packages a A product.
- The reseller imports this product and sells it to the distributor, who puts this A product on the Luxemburgish market.
- The producer, the reseller and the distributor are members of VALORLUX.
The packaging of the A product and/or its primary/secondary/tertiary packaging are eligible for the producer (or for the reseller or the distributor if the producer has not submitted a file).
- A producer packages a B product (own brand) for the distributor that puts this B product on the Luxemburgish market.
- The distributor and the producer are members of VALORLUX.
The packaging of the B product and/or its primary/secondary/tertiary packaging are eligible for the distributor, but not for the producer.
- A foreign wholesaler sells a A product to the importer that sells it to the distributor.
- The distributor puts this A product on the Luxemburgish market.
- The foreign wholesaler is not a member of VALORLUX, but the importer and the distributor are members of VALORLUX.
The packaging of the A product and/or its secondary/tertiary packaging are eligible for the importer (or the distributor if the importer has not submitted a file), but not eligible for the foreign wholesaler.
