The oval bottle has been replaced by a cylindrical one with a flat side, reducing product weight by 15% for the 200 ml bottles and by 19% for the 100 ml bottles. The bottles are now made from 25% recycled PET (PCR), and the screw-cap dispenser pump means the bottle is easily recyclable. Packaging optimisation has increased the number of products per pallet by 89% for the 200 ml bottle size, and by 17% for the 100 ml size. The packaging forms part of L’Oréal's global programme to reduce its impact on the environment.

Made from 100% PCR recycled PET, the bottle saves 24 tonnes of fossil-origin PET for every million bottles produced. It is also 100% recyclable. The removal of the metal clip and reduction in size of the plastic bag resulted in savings of 37 kg of metal and 5 km of plastic film in 2017. These changes streamlined the company's production process and reduced the amount of waste generated.

This reusable swing-top glass bottle can be filled with craft beer on tap to take home. The growler keeps the beer tasting like it's just been poured, by removing the oxygen from inside the bottle and replacing it with CO2. Furthermore, the bottle is 100% recyclable.

This cured meat packaging is made of 90% FSC-certified paper and 90% recyclable materials with the paper/cardboard fraction. Changing the packaging from 200 g to 150 g has resulted in transport and storage reductions of 30 lorries and 20 pallets per year respectively. Information either on the packaging, in the press or in-store encourage the consumer to sort their household waste appropriately.

The plastic bottles are now made from 100% recycled PET (and no longer just 80%). They are also 100% recyclable. Products in the Frosch range are part of the group's overarching vision that emphasises sustainability. The packaging supplier has been integrated into the product design and manufacturing site, thus reducing the number of lorries on the road by 1,500 every year and translating into savings of 570 tonnes of CO2 and 220,000 tonnes of fuel. The Werner & Mertz factory has been awarded EMAS, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certification for its energy management approach.

Packaging for the Lovely Salads & Meals range is mostly made from wood fibre-based renewable materials, and the majority is recyclable. The Lovely Salad boxes have a special coating to protect them from mould, and with the Lovely Meals the plastic film can be removed to improve recyclability. Instructions in the Lovely Meals packaging aid the consumer in sorting their waste for recycling.

Delhaize has eliminated all cling film, paper, ink and glue from its organic products and replaced them with natural laser markings instead. This has enabled the company to cut its packaging down by 13 tonnes. The CO2 emissions of this natural marking method are less than 2% of the emissions generated by the original packaging.

This box is manufactured from cardboard waste collected from Colruyt stores, and aims to improve waste recycling/reduction efforts and contribute towards the circular economy. 100% recyclable and reusable, it is offered to customers at the till to reduce the store's use of plastic bags.

Delhaize has replaced the lids on its Aides culinaires pots with film (made from 100% PET like the rest of the pot itself) that can be resealed over 10 times after opening. Product information is printed directly on the film. This improvement has reduced plastic usage by 75% and optimised product transportation. In addition, it also reduces consumer-level waste.

Shop customers can purchase a reusable, recyclable bag made from 100% recycled materials. The bag can be reused in-store or when shopping elsewhere, thereby reducing the need for disposable plastic bags.

Falling somewhere between a normal glass and disposable cup, this PP cup can be reused hundreds of times and be used in the design of new high-quality industrial products. Manufactured in Austria, the cups are washed at a cleaning facility in Luxembourg. The reusable cup is a good way to inform the public about the environment and sustainable development.

The old Powerdose comprised 30 individual doses in 10 ml glass vials. The new Powermix comprises 150 ml PP multi-dose bottles, with a dosing system that can be reused 3 times. Packs are therefore 90% lighter and their volume has shrunk by 40%. The plastic bottles are naturally more hard-wearing and require less outer packaging than the single-dose glass vials, which also has a positive impact on transportation.

The Veggie-Bag is a polyester drawstring bag available in fruit & veg aisles in Cactus stores. Its price is reduced if Cactus points are used. Reusable and washable, the bag helps reduce plastic bag usage. This packaging forms one aspect of Cactus's sustainable development strategy, in which it has committed to meeting the needs of the present generation without jeopardising the ability of future generations to meet theirs.
